challenges
  • In rural India over 60% of the children are first-generation students hailing from socio-economically deprived families.

  • Children, especially girls from repressed communities and nomadic tribes often have to drop out, failing to realize that an educated woman empowers her entire community starting from her own home.

  • There is a large gap between the skills urban children gain, and the skills rural children are able to pick up at school. Rural India remains an untapped talent pool.

  • Students from rural areas migrate to cities for quality education, which entails an increased overall education cost. These students not only have to arrange for tuition fees but also for the living expenses.

Education Challenges

"

Jnana Prabodhini (JP) is an organization working in the field of education, research, rural development with a motto of ‘Motivating intelligence for social change’ for all the strata of society

solutionS

To bridge the gap between rural and urban education JP operates through our 4 different sites by providing the following facilities to the financially challenged students: full/partial tuition fee scholarship, subsidized housing and meal plans, and scholarship for living expenses.

  • Rural schools to empower the boys and girls from every community.

  • Rural housing facility to reduce the commute issues for the students living in distant villages.

  • Urban housing facility for students coming for education from rural to urban areas.

  • Dedicated teachers to enhance skills and language development for overall development of students.

  • Quality education that would empower students to alleviate their poverty and help other downtrodden members of their society fight hardships.

  • Inclusion of technology at the school level: Maker’s space where students experiment and build mechanics and electronics models.

  • Student-centric education system:  Four-sided growth of the individual – the physical, the intellectual, the emotional and the motivational is very carefully pursued at Jnana Prabodhini.

current state

JP’s long experience of working at the grassroots shows that there are boys and girls in every community who have the potential to break free of the shackles of poverty and to become role models for the others.

However, most of these children come from a very poor background and cannot afford to pay for their schooling. As our school runs without any government grant or aid, we need to raise enough funds from our friends and well-wishers to realize our dream. The donation received would be used to offer scholarships to these students in need.

Currently, to bridge the gap between rural and urban education JP operates through our 4 different sites. By providing the following facilities to the financially challenged students. Fee connection, full scholarship, subsidized housing, and meal plans, scholarship for living expenses and of course quality education
