Jnana Prabodhini’s response to COVID-19

India is facing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the impact has been extremely severe. Jnana Prabodhini is coordinating, planning, and executing aid for hospitals, COVID-19 centers, and healthcare professionals in and around the city of Pune. Our volunteers are working at medical centers in the city.

While the volunteers are taking up the frontline administrative tasks, these facilities need ventilators, oxygen supply, and other consumables to provide continuous care for the patients. JPF is raising funds to provide the necessary equipment.

  • To help improve healthcare facilities, Jnana Prabodhini donated 2 BiPap A 40 Ventilators. These good-quality ventilators were donated to two hospitals in Lokhandi Sawargaon, Maharashtra along with a supplemental oxygen unit. The total expense to provide these machines along with their supplementary accessories was supported by Jnana Prabodhini Foundation

  • 15 volunteers are actively involved in frontline work at two Covid centers, one started by Pune Municipal Corporation and Sakal foundation and another at a private hospital. The volunteers are conducting administrative tasks to kick-start the center. These tasks include training of center staff for software operations, SOP preparation and documentation, front handling. We are working at a PMC center for last one week, and the new center has started yesterday with 10 beds due to limited oxygen availability. Capacity is of around 125 beds, and we are expecting to utilize full capacity soon.

  • Currently, finding Oxygen beds and ventilators is very difficult in Pune city due to high number of patients. 50 of our volunteers are helping the patients by systematically calling hospitals for their requirements to find any vacancies. We have helped around 12 patients in the first 2 days. 25 more volunteers will join us tomorrow, taking the total count to 75. Two of them have joined us from the USA to help the patients during the night time in India.

  • Patients are receiving a free treatment at the COVID center. Therefore, funds are required to support the center with Oxygen and other requirements.

Join us, and contribute in any capacity you can. We also encourage you to gather a group of friends to contribute with you. Every contribution matters, and every penny counts.

Let's stand with India.

Let's beat this second wave together.
